Record-Breaking Season Puts Lisa Quirmolue Among CEC's Best
When Lisa Quirmolue arrived at Conwell-Egan Catholic (CEC) as a freshman, she was looking for an opportunity to receive a strong education and continue pursuing her passion for track and field. Three years later, she has become one of the most accomplished athletes in school history."After suffering a season-ending injury in her sophomore year, Lisa rededicated herself once she recovered and had an amazing junior year, rewriting the CEC girls track and field record book," says CEC Track & Field Head Coach Brian Wurtz ‘84. This season alone, Quirmolue shattered numerous school records and established herself as one of the top track athletes in Pennsylvania. Record-Breaking Run for Girls 4x400 at Penn Relays
Lisa Quirmolue ‘27, Rylee Broll ’28, Ever Damas ‘29, and Alessandra Stamato ’29 delivered an impressive performance in the girls 4x400 at the Penn Relays. Competing in a strong PCL heat, the team earned a second-place finish while setting a new school record with a time of 4:09.25. Their effort showcased the team’s speed, determination, and ability to compete at a high level on one of the biggest stages in track and field.

Julia Horger Captures Third Straight PIAA State Title
Photo via Bucks County Courier TimesJulia Horger '26 capped off her high school career with another dominant performance at the PIAA Championships in Hershey this past weekend, earning her third consecutive state title.Horger secured the win with a technical fall over Corry Area sophomore Finley Fourspring, finishing the match in just 93 seconds. She quickly built a commanding lead, racking up points on the way to a 17–1 victory and closing out her career as a three-time state champion.

CEC Swim Makes a Splash in the Postseason
CEC’s Swim program made an immediate impact in 2025-2026, capping off a historic first year with an impressive showing at both the PCL Championships and the District 12 AA Championships this past FebruaryAcross the season, the Eagles delivered standout performances, with 88% of their races resulting in personal bests or dropped times, an incredible accomplishment for a program in its first year. Both the boys and girls teams finished 7th overall at the PCL Championships and 7th overall at the District 12 AA Championships, reflecting their rapid growth.Beyond the results in the pool, the team earned praise from coaches, officials, and parents from other schools for their sportsmanship, dedication, and teamwork throughout the season.Several swimmers also earned top-six finishes and postseason honors. This winter season showcased the dedication, growth, and spirit of CEC athletics across every program. From program-building milestones to big rivalry wins, our Eagles have already made this winter one to remember.
