The Conwell-Egan Catholic (CEC) Eagles Girls Volleyball team continued their strong momentum at home, sweeping Neshaminy High School in three sets (25-13, 26-24, 25-23).
The Eagles opened with a dominant first set, then showed resilience by holding off late Neshaminy rallies in both the second and third sets. Behind powerful hitting and aggressive serving, CEC secured back-to-back wins to improve their early-season record.
Notable Performances:
Alia Schmidt – Delivered a standout performance with 19 kills, 1 assist, 13 digs, and 3 aces, including several momentum-shifting kills in key moments.
Sophia Lodise – Added a balanced line with 12 kills, 15 assists, 7 digs, 17 serves, and 7 aces, proving critical in both setting and scoring.
Olivia Barber – Strong at the service line with 15 serves and 4 aces, while adding 1 kill.
Hannah Ross – Anchored the defense with 19 digs, while contributing 1 kill, 2 assists, 16 serves, and 2 aces.
Celeste Kinney – Distributed the ball effectively with 10 assists, 3 digs, and 1 ace.
Defensive Specialists/Liberos Lucie Grodzki, Lily Lodise, and Olivia Grbas – Combined for 7 digs, providing solid back-row coverage.
Head Coach Sori Perez praised the team’s composure: “The girls showed a lot of heart tonight. They stayed disciplined when the sets got tight and trusted each other to finish strong. That’s the kind of teamwork that will carry us through the season.”
